![]() Probably still need to carry some things with you regardless though. Alternatively, you can spend precious skill points into slowing down your hunger/thirst rates. It is absolutely necessary unless you are only making short trips. You need to carry around food and drink with you. That means you're stuck with 99 stamina max. In a couple of seconds, you'll be back down to 99% fullness. Anything that went past 100% was wasted energy. Instead when you eat something it fills you to 100% - and that's it. Foods that don't fill you up much have to be carried in bulks, while foods that fill you up a lot would circumvent the necessity of having to waste inventory space on relatively short expeditions. In the current system now where your stamina cap and regen speed is determined by your food and water counts, this overfill mechanic would be excellent. It also prevented the player from maxing out Wellness too quickly or shrugging off every injury by just slamming down their excess food supplies. This ability to overfill your meters acted as a good way of not punishing players for eating big meals when they didn't absolutely need to. The extra fullness you gained past 100% was actually counted, so you wouldn't have to worry about food for a long time. While you'd only see yourself at 100% full, you'd stay at 100% for a considerable amount of time. ![]() If you were 99% of the way full, and ate something like a meat stew, you'd be put to 100% and get all the other benefits from the food. In A16 you couldn't eat if you were full, and couldn't drink if you weren't thirsty. Would be if not for another change they added. The penalties, IMO, should be delayed until at the very least 75% for fullness/thirst, better yet closer to 50%, but having more penalties for not taking care of yourself is definitely welcome. Surprisingly, this much as a change is actually okay. This immediately screams micromanagement and necessitates taking food with you on every single journey, forcing you to waste precious limited inventory space on food and drink. So, if at any point you're not 100% full on food or water, you're being penalized. If you are at 97% food, you get capped to 97% of your stamina meter.ĭitto goes your how much water you've consumed which, AFAIK, affects how fast your stamina regens (or otherwise how much gets used? not sure). If you are at 100% food, you get 100% of your stamina meter. Right now in A17, your stamina gets capped based on how hungry you are. ![]() A good example of why you don't fix things that aren't broken. ![]() ![]() Trine 2 has become more of a puzzle game than a platformer. The soundtrack has a lot of ambient music, more orchestrated medleys that pick up in tempo when it needs set the mood. The main theme is a soft medley that is well orchestrated and memorable. The attention of detail is outstanding when the developers could have cheated and repeated scenery and objects all throughout the game. The backgrounds are lush and beautiful as they make the world feel large even though you move left and right. The graphics in Trine 2 are detailed and the use of vivid colors and lighting makes are impressive. This mode can become hectic as some characters are more effective in certain situations than others. The camera may not always follow the furthest character leading you to walk in to any dangers without you seeing. All players share the same screen and players can be left behind. If you are playing with two players then you can switch to the standby character. There is offline and online multiplayer that allows each player to control one of the three heroes. ![]() There are elegant solutions and there are messy solutions, very messy solutions. Trine 2 is flexible enough to have multiple solutions to most puzzles. You will have to divert water, move portals or attach pipes to redirect wind and fire. Frozenbyte has created puzzles with more moving pieces requiring more thinking from the player. There were large sections of Trine where you could quickly run through. Many puzzles then involved crossing gaps, reaching high ledges or using objects as weights. Originally, Trine 1’s puzzles were mostly platforming focused. Trine 2 has more complex puzzles without giving you new abilities to solve them. You can revive characters at checkpoints. When a character dies you can switch to any remain character. The physics are the basis of some puzzles.Įach character has their own methods for fighting but other than a few new skills the fundamentals are unchanged. Objects and platforms have weight and will tip over an edge. You and objects tend to stay in the air for a few moments. The physics are floaty, reminiscent of LittleBigPlanet. Treasure chests now contain artwork and poems revealing more about the sisters. Certain skills, mana and equipment are removed. ![]() You gain a skill point for the heroes each level and you can redistribute all points at any time. You level up by finding experience in the level and killing enemies. You can switch between the three freely without delay. Zoya is equipped with a bow and has a grappling hook she uses to swing off wooden objects. Pontius wields a sword, shield and hammer excelling in combat and destroying obstacles. Amadeus can conjure boxes, planks and can manipulate and levitate objects. You play as three main characters, Amadeus the wizard, Pontius the knight and Zoya the thief. Trine 2 is a side scrolling puzzle platformer. The three heroes share banter between each other as the had previously and provide some context for the time between the first and second game. On your journey, you discover the letters between two sisters, one whose personality is changing and the other who is concerned for the other. They are taken to an unknown location where wildlife and plants are mysteriously overgrown and is overrun by goblins. ![]() Trine 2 begins with three heroes being drawn together again by the Trine. The sequel was released December last year and does Trine 2 still have the magic? Trine had excellent design, visuals and gameplay and was generally well received. Trine was an innovative puzzle platformer where you switch between three characters with different skills to traverse and solve puzzles. It’s been a while since I reviewed something that’s actually out… The first Trine was released in 2009 developed by Frozenbyte. ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a learning experience for the younger Leach. “I was young enough, I didn’t understand how that worked,” Joe says, “Frank was technically the coach but, yeah, Mike did all the coaching.” ![]() Leach’s dad Frank was the titular coach of Cronk’s Little League team in Cody – sponsored by First Wyoming Bank – but Mike was in charge. Let’s go back to that baseball game in the summer of 1978. The only thing is the money is just not very good.”īut we are getting ahead of ourselves, way ahead. “I started cowboying for a living, and I loved it,” he says in a recent phone conversation, “then I got married and had a family. Little “c,” and, to hear Joe tell it, little pay. Not with a capital “C,” like at the university. Heck, before he became a police officer, Joe had another job, one once ubiquitous in Wyoming. Before that he was in the NYPD, Joe says, but the wilds of Wyoming beckoned. His dad was a 22-year veteran of the Cody police department. That Little Leaguer grew up to be many things, but these days he is a police officer, part of the family business. The guy you can credit for Mike Leach’s coaching career. And, after a few missed connections, it led to Joe Cronk: It led to the police department and to a 51-year-old freshly minted sergeant. It led to Green River, a town of about 13,000 on Interstate 80, the main highway that dissects the southern part of the state. The search led to the southwest corner of Wyoming closer to Salt Lake City, actually, than Laramie – or Cody. Then Leach, always curious, mentioned he would like to know what Joe Cronk was up to. How many of us keep up with our Little League teammates, let alone the coaches, over 40 years? So I was determined to ask Leach about Cronk. The first time I read Leach’s book – written nearly a decade ago with The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman – the entire Little League episode, with a young Leach exploiting baseball’s time-honored unwritten rules and winning a game, sort of passed me by.īut a few weeks ago, when I read the book again with an eye on preparing for an interview, what Leach wrote stuck mainly the part about how he stuck with Cronk and encouraged him, and how Cronk’s success against Cody’s version of Kelly Leak (look it up if you are too young for “The Bad News Bears”) not only propelled a Little League team into the playoffs, but Leach into coaching as well. ![]() Not Michael Crabtree nor Graham Harrell nor any of the number of future NFL players Leach coached over the years at Valdosta State, Kentucky, Oklahoma or Texas Tech. Think about that last sentence for a second.Ī Little League player from Cody, Wyoming, is why Leach lives in Pullman, ready to lead the Cougars into another Pac-12 showdown at USC Friday night. ![]() It describes a player, one of the thousands whose path crossed Leach’s over the years an 11-year-old boy from a small town in rural America. It’s something Washington State’s Mike Leach has done often over the past 40-some years.īut what may be surprising? The final two sentences of the chapter entitled “The Early Years” – a chapter written, seemingly, to explain why Mike Leach is Mike Leach. Cronk earned a bachelor’s degree in management science from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Mercer University in Atlanta.None of that, except maybe the setting, is surprising. CommonSpirit Health: At An Inflection Point For Digital Healthįor CommonSpirit Health - the result of a 2019 merger between Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, and the fourth largest healthcare system in the U.S. While Steward continues to invest in innovation, including new technologies like AI, much of the health system’s investment is in support of value-based care and the tenet of “right care, right time, right place,” says de la Torre. Also in November, VC firm Andreessen Horowitz announced its partnership with rural health system Bassett Healthcare Network. In November, VC firm General Catalyst announced a number of new health system partners, bringing its roster to 14 system collaborators. Says de la Torre, “That’s a patient and physician focused move that is a bet on the future of care – one we are most definitely a part of, but not in the same owned, four-walls way we had historically operated.”ĭe la Torre is also encouraged by the increase in venture capital (VC) and health system partnerships, whereby health systems become the “test beds” for VC firms’ digital health portfolio companies’ offerings. Regarding the latter point, de la Torre referenced Steward’s recent deal with CareMax, the now-exclusive value-based management services organization for Steward's Medicare network, which moves care from the hospital to a lower cost, more coordinated model. ![]() “Pressure on traditional health systems provides great opportunity for both digital health companies and organizations like Steward to digitize themselves, or in some cases, cannibalize themselves.” ![]() “The way I see it, this environment provides young health tech companies and digital health with tremendous opportunities,” said de la Torre. Hospitals and health systems are no strangers to small margins, but the current economic climate means there is an even greater need to be efficient operators, regardless of any payer negotiated payment rate increases, says Steward Health Care System chairman and CEO Ralph de la Torre. With all of these factors at play, how are health systems considering future investments in digital health? Are health systems pulling back the throttle? And, what should digital health companies be doing to be the most attractive option? Steward Health Care System: Innovating around Challenges And as big tech and retailers continue wading into the care delivery waters, it puts even more pressure on hospitals and health systems to up the ante when it comes to digitizing healthcare delivery and investing in digital health capabilities. Moreover, many of these newer care entrants have the existing tech infrastructure and capabilities to provide patients with a more digital, consumer-friendly experience. “New entrants in the marketplace are disintermediating traditional care models, including high-tech companies such as Amazon, an explosion in street-corner retail converting to care centers, virtual-first companies such as AmWell, and finally, payers as providers,” said Marx. More Options, More Competitionīoth hospitals and health systems continue to face competition from burgeoning retail and ambulatory care centers as well, where even traditional players are exploring new models of care. Marx, a veteran health IT leader and former chief information officer (CIO) at Cleveland Clinic, sees the nursing shortage, “generally-modest reimbursement rates,” and the shift to outpatient and hospital-at-home models as adding to the “bearish reality” that hospitals and health systems have faced in recent years. “There are multiple forces at work colluding to erode profitability,” says Ed Marx, CEO of healthcare consulting firm Divurgent. ![]() ![]() ![]() Folsäure: avocado, green peas, cereals, liver, green vegetables, certain types of bread.Vitamin B12: meat, eggs, fish (trout and salmon), dairy products.Vitamin B6: beans, bananas, nuts, eggs, meat (poultry), potatoes.Biotin: eggs, fish, milk, dairy products, soy products, nuts, chard, cereals, beans.Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid): mushrooms, sunflower seeds, calf’s liver, eggs, fish, dairy products, whole grain cereals, beans.Vitamin B3: Dairy products, poultry, fish, lean meat, nuts, eggs, bread, cereals.Vitamin B2: eggs, lean meat, vegetables, nuts, dairy products, cereals.Vitamin B1: sunflower seeds, pasta, meat, fish, beans, green peas, corn, soybeans.Vitamin K: spinach, cabbage, broccoli, chard.Vitamin E: nuts, seeds, spinach, kiwi, vegetable oils.Vitamin D: salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel, egg yolk, orange juice.Vitamin C: guava, citrus fruits and juices, papaya, kiwi, broccoli, strawberries, tomatoes, potatoes.Vitamin A: carrots, cantaloupe melon, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, apricots, spinach, eggs. However, the selected foods general contain many more health-promoting substances and are therefore suitable for a balanced diet.
